Elementor form submissions not working

Elementor forms rely on WordPress AJAX, PHP mail functions, and optional third‑party integrations to store and deliver data. When any of these components fail, the form stops processing and no submission is recorded.

The failure often originates from server restrictions, PHP errors, missing database entries, or mis‑configured SMTP and API settings. Conflicts with other plugins or outdated core files also break the AJAX handler, resulting in silent drops.

Symptoms

[dashicons-warning]
No email received
The form appears to submit but you never get a confirmation email.
[dashicons-warning]
Server error toast
A red message appears after clicking Submit, indicating a server problem.
[dashicons-database]
No entry in Submissions dashboard
Elementor → Submissions shows no new records after a test submit.
[dashicons-warning]
Submit button does nothing
Clicking the button does not reload the page or show a confirmation.

Common Causes

mail() function disabled
Host blocks PHP mail or wp_mail, preventing email delivery.
SMTP not configured
Without authenticated SMTP the email is rejected or marked as spam.
PHP fatal error
Memory limit or max‑execution‑time aborts the request before processing.
JavaScript conflict
Caching, security, or optimization plugins break the AJAX submit handler.
Database write failure
Corrupted tables or missing wp_posts/wp_postmeta entries stop data storage.
