RocketCDN cache purge failed: The API returned an unexpected response code.

The RocketCDN integration attempts to contact the CDN API whenever you purge cache. The request reaches the server but the response does not contain a successful HTTP status. This mismatch indicates that the server is unable to complete a secure handshake or that the API endpoint returns an error code.

Typical triggers include network blocks, SSL/TLS negotiation failures, DNS lookup problems, or rate‑limit responses from RocketCDN. When the API does not reply with 200, WP Rocket records the error and shows the notice in the admin panel.

Common Causes

Firewall or security plugin block
Outbound calls to RocketCDN IPs are denied by server firewall or a security extension.
SSL/TLS negotiation failure
Outdated OpenSSL or mismatched SNI prevents a secure connection to the API endpoint.
DNS resolution issue
The server cannot resolve the RocketCDN hostname, resulting in a failed request.
Rate‑limit or quota exceeded
Too many purge requests in a short period cause the API to return 429 or 403.
